First, here’s what to pack so you can enjoy Alaska. When you visitAlaska be sure to bring snow gear if you’re visiting Barrow. If you’re visiting Fairbanks bring t-shirts & shorts. But in addition to this always bring fall clothing wherever you are. The average July temperature in most of Alaska will be 55°F. The average January temperature in most of this amazing state will be 5°F.

Next, here are some things to do in Alaska so you’re not bored (Don’t worry, that won’t happen) you should visit the Sheldon Jackson Museum on the Alaskan panhandle. There you will find native American ancient crafts. You should also visit the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. Here you can view Alaskan wildlife from cruise ships. Keep an eye out for the amazing Kodiak brown bear. Another thing to do is visit the Ketchikan Totem Pole Museum on the Alaskan panhandle.

Now, here are some fascinating facts about Alaska. Alaska is the most likely state out of the country to have various earthquakes. Alaska is home to author Jack London, who is the author of many books including ‘‘Call of the Wild’’ and ‘‘White Fang’’. The famous Iditarod dog sled race is the birthplace of the saying ‘mush’. Fairbanks is the yearly host of the World Ice Art Championship. The amazing state bird of Alaska is the Willow Ptarmigan. Alaska is the largest state in the entire country. Alaska’s state tree is the always- tall Sitka Spruce, and the gorgeous state flower is the Forget- Me-Not.

Now, here’s some Alaskan history. Alaska was bought by the U.S. in 1949 for $67.2 million dollars. Alaska’s birthplace is 2-miles away-Russia. In World War 2 Alaska was attacked by the Japanese army. Alaska was also a large mining state. People would come from all over the country to mine in Alaska.
